Our Story
Magic Valley Flowers began, as many good things do, with a love of growing beautiful things.
Long before there was a flower farm, there were gardens—flowers tucked into corners of our yard, dirt under our fingernails, and the quiet satisfaction of watching something grow. We’ve always been drawn to beauty, to creating things with our hands, and to the kind of life that feels deeply rooted in home and family.
We’re a small family flower farm in Southern Idaho, nestled in the high desert of the Magic Valley near the Snake River, where near constant wind, long summer evenings, and deep Idaho soil shape both the flowers we grow and the life we live.
Our days are shaped by homeschooling around the kitchen table, county fair projects, 4-H, little boys with muddy boots, summer afternoons in the ditch, and learning—again and again—what it means to grow deep roots right where we are planted.
Like most meaningful things, this farm is rooted in family. Ours is a full one—little boys growing up among flowers and fair projects, grown children we love deeply, grandparents, sisters, brothers, and many helping hands that show up when the work is big and the season is full. Like many small farms, ours is built together.
But the truth is, this farm came to being because life asked something different of us.
When Jacob was diagnosed with a brain tumor, the future we thought we were building suddenly looked very different.
What had once been simply something we loved became something we needed to be able to depend on.
We needed to build something sustainable for our family—something flexible enough to adapt to uncertainty, meaningful enough to pour our hearts into, and grounded in the life we wanted to create for our children. A business that could provide for our family while still allowing us to be present for the things that matter most.
If life had unfolded differently, we likely still would have found our way here eventually.
But not like this.
Not in this season.
And yet, in many ways, this work feels exactly like what we were meant to be doing.
Magic Valley Flowers was born out of both necessity and deep conviction—a belief that hard things can reshape us, but they do not get the final word. That beauty still matters. That joy is still worth choosing. That even in difficult seasons, something meaningful can grow.
We often say this farm is built on deep roots, and we mean that in every sense of the word.
Roots in Idaho soil.
Roots in family.
Roots in resilience.
Roots in choosing joy, even when life feels uncertain.
Dahlias, in many ways, feel like a reflection of that story. They are resilient, dramatic, endlessly beautiful, and somehow capable of surprising us season after season. We grow varieties that feel whimsical, romantic, a little wild, and full of wonder—flowers that remind us beauty is worth cultivating.
We care deeply about how we grow. We prioritize thoughtful stewardship, strong sanitation practices, careful tuber handling, and honest growing practices. While no flower farm can promise perfection, we believe trust is earned through transparency, care, and consistency.
Our hope is simple:
That the flowers we grow bring beauty into your corner of the world.
That they become part of slow mornings, summer gardens, kitchen table bouquets, celebrations, comfort, and everyday joy.
From our family to yours, thank you for being here and allowing us to grow something meaningful.
We’re honored to be part of your story.
