Our Story
At Magic Valley Flowers, we are committed to growing healthy, vigorous dahlias using thoughtful cultivation practices, careful observation, and responsible sanitation methods. Dahlias are living plants grown in natural conditions, and while no grower can guarantee disease-free stock, we take proactive steps to minimize risk and provide quality tubers we are proud to grow and share.
Our Sanitation & Growing Practices
We believe healthy blooms begin with thoughtful stewardship. To support plant health and reduce disease transmission, we practice:
- Routine sanitation of cutting and dividing tools between plants and tuber clumps
- Careful monitoring for signs of disease, poor vigor, or abnormalities throughout the growing season
- Integrated insect management to reduce pest pressure and potential disease spread
- Removal of questionable or unhealthy stock from production
- Clean handling practices during digging, dividing, storage, and packing
Any plant showing concerning symptoms, poor performance, or suspected disease may be removed from our inventory at our discretion.
A Note About Dahlia Viruses
Dahlia viruses are unfortunately common throughout the dahlia industry and may be present even in plants that appear healthy and vigorous. Some diseases are spread by insect vectors, environmental conditions, or may exist without visible symptoms.
While we actively monitor our fields and practice strong sanitation protocols, Magic Valley Flowers does not claim to sell disease-free or virus-free stock, and visual inspection alone cannot guarantee the absence of latent disease.
We are committed to thoughtful growing practices, transparency, and continually improving the health and vigor of our collection.
Tuber Inspection & Guarantee
Please open and inspect your tubers immediately upon arrival.
We ask that customers carefully examine their order and contact us within 3 days of delivery if there is a concern.
To request a refund or replacement, please email us within 3 days of arrival with:
- Your order number
- Clear photos of the issue
- A brief description of the concern
Eligible concerns may include:
- Significant rot or damage upon arrival
- Incorrect variety received
- Shipping-related damage
- Tubers deemed non-viable upon arrival
Approved claims may be addressed through a replacement tuber (if available), store credit, or refund at our discretion.
Limitations of Guarantee
Because tubers are living plants and storage and growing conditions vary widely after delivery, we cannot guarantee performance after they leave our care.
We are unable to offer refunds or replacements for:
- Improper storage after arrival
- Rot or desiccation occurring after delivery
- Weather, pests, or environmental conditions
- Growing performance or bloom outcomes
- Suspected virus concerns without laboratory confirmation
- Damage resulting from improper planting or care
We strongly encourage customers to unpack tubers promptly and store them in cool, appropriate conditions until planting.
Our Commitment
As a small family farm in Idaho’s high desert, we care deeply about growing beautiful, resilient flowers with integrity. We are committed to honest communication, responsible growing practices, and continually improving the health and quality of the tubers we offer.
